All students will be automatically enrolled at Old Rochester Regional High School and will complete a Course Selection Card in the spring. Students are encouraged to review the program of studies in advance and check out the many clubs and activities the high school has to offer. 

COURSE SCHEDULING:  March 7, 2024

It is time to make your course selections for your Freshman year at Old Rochester Regional High School.  By now, you should have met with your teachers to discuss proper placement and taken time to read through the Old Rochester Regional High School Program of Studies.  Your teachers provide valuable insight into the appropriate level and/or course that would be best for you and should be highly considered when selecting courses. Parents/Guardians should complete your course selections with you.  If you have any questions, you should contact your subject teacher or counselor.

Application Process:  Students in the Town of Mattapoisett, Rochester, Achusnet, Carver, and Lakeville. 

 

Step 1: Inquire

 

Step 2: Complete an Application

Apply online by clicking on the “Apply” button. Once your application has been accepted by Old Colony your guidance counselor will submit the following documents:

 

  • Official Report Cards (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Detailed Attendance Reports (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Detailed Discipline Reports (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Guidance Counselor/ Recommendation

 

Step 3: Release of Information

Sign the Release of Information form that allows Old Rochester to release student records to Old Colony.  Without this form, your application will not be complete and will not be reviewed by Old Colony. Please submit this form to your Guidance Counselor as soon as possible.

 

Step 4: Interview

Your guidance counselor will coordinate with Old Colony to set up interviews at Old Rochester Regional Junior High School. Students will be notified in advance of their scheduled interview date and time.  Check the important events and dates section of the site for date of interviews.

Application Process:  Students in the Town of New Bedford, Dartmouth, and Fairhaven can apply.

Applications must be completed with your parent, guardian or caregiver.

Apply online by clicking on the “Apply” button. Once your application has been accepted by NB Voc your guidance counselor will submit the following documents:

 

  • Official Report Cards (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Detailed Attendance Reports (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Detailed Discipline Reports (7th and 8th Grade)

  • Guidance Counselor/ Recommendation

 

Step 3: Release of Information

Karen Minster

Bristol County Agricultural High School is a public high school serving all Bristol County residents and ORR Students. Out of county residents are accepted, but must receive written approval from the Superintendent of their sending district prior to April 1st of the current school year, this includes ORRJHS students.

 

An Admissions Coordinator at Bristol Aggie can present an overview of the offerings available at Bristol County Agricultural High School to prospective students and families by registering for a tour of the Bristol Aggie campus. On-campus tour dates are available and posted online in September.

Step 1: Complete an Application

Step 2: Release of Information

Sign the Release of Information form that allows Old Rochester to release student records to Bristol Aggie.  Without this form, your application will not be complete and will not be reviewed by Bristol Aggie. Please submit this form to your Guidance Counselor as soon as possible.

 

Step 3: Interview

The Interview is a required step in the application process. You will need to schedule an interview with Bristol Aggie directly. After you apply, you will receive information on how to schedule your interview from Bristol Aggie.

Step 4: Recommendation Letter

You will need to choose someone to fill out your recommendation form. You can choose one person from your middle school to fill it out for you (teacher, guidance counselor, coach, chorus/band teacher, etc.) It's up to you! Bristol Aggie will send you the form directly and you can pass it along to whomever you choose. You or the person can drop off the recommendation letter to your guidance counselor to upload it to your application.

Calendar Overview for 8th-grade applicants: 

  • Early September: The application portal opens for students entering 8th grade.

  • September through December:  The Admissions Coordinator will present an overview of the offerings available at Bristol County Agricultural High School to prospective students and families by registering for a tour of the Bristol Aggie campus. On-campus tour dates are available.

  • October through March:  An interview will be conducted by our Admissions Coordinator.

  • January through April:  Decision letters will be sent to all applicants. Several Welcome Events will be scheduled in the spring.

  • April through May:  Placement testing will be conducted for accepted students who wish to enroll in honors-level courses.

  • August:  Freshman Academy and Orientation will take place prior to the start of school.

High School Application Process

 

Applications:

Tabor uses SSAT’s Standard Application Online (SAO). Applicants must register at SSAT, www.ssat.org, in order to create a Web Login ID and complete the application process. Follow the instructions provided for submitting testing, teacher recommendations, and essays.

 

Bishop Stang has their own admissions application that can be accessed below.

Please Note: Other private schools may or may not use the SAO. Please consult each school’s website for specific instructions.

 

Release of Information:

Sign the Release of Information form that allows Old Rochester to release student records to the high school of choice. Please submit this form to your Guidance Counselor as soon as possible.

 

Testing:

Students should refer to the SSAT website, www.ssat.org, to find SSAT test locations and dates. Student’s will register for a test date directly through the SSAT website. Please refer to your specific school for testing requirement. 

 

Recommendations:

In order for teachers’ to have time to complete recommendations you must do the online request in early December. A request is sent to your English and Math teacher.

 

Principal Request & Academic Form:

The Head of School/Principal request and the Academic form should be sent to me, Ms. DeChellis as I complete those forms.

 

Transcripts and Student Records:

Transcripts and other student records are uploaded to the SAO by the ORRJHS guidance office. Please use this email sheridechellis@oldrochester.org to send the Transcript Request Form.
